There’s something about the Oregon coast that really is so unique to the area. It isn’t as sandy and tropical feeling as California, but it isn’t quite as rocky as most Washington beaches either. It always feels like the perfect balance, nestles quietly against the Pacific. When I decided to host my retreat there, I knew that we were going to make magic happen. But Chelsea and Alyssa showed up in such a big way, and made it that much better. Even though they had all these eyes on them, you would have thought we were invisible. Their love for one another was palpable. The mix of the ocean breeze, the salty air, and their love was exactly what you want out of an Oregon coast session.
Why the Oregon Coast?
I am so grateful that I get to see so much of the world for my job. It’s never lost on me that it’s a huge privilege! But there’s something about the west coast that really just hits different. The Oregon coast offers such a unique landscape. Plus it’s almost never too cold, or unbearably hot. I love it so much I had my own wedding there! So when I was trying to come up with a location for my retreat, I knew that this was the only option.
Chelsea and Alyssa were right at home on the beach. They hiked into little alcoves with us, got down into the sand, waded into the ocean barefoot. It felt surreal. Sometimes (or all the time) the world is loud, and chaotic, and scary. But their love was stronger, and louder, and as reassuring as the ocean tides. We need more of that. More snuggles, more kisses, more ocean views, more LOVE. Because it’s the most powerful tool we have. Thank you for letting us be the third (and fourth, fifth, sixth etc.) wheel on your epic Oregon coast date. Let’s do it again soon!
