Lori, Nick, and Blue
One of the best feelings in the world is getting to work with people who were referred to me by their friends and family. It starts to feel like I’m a part of the family myself! Bonus points if you bring along your cute animals and I get to love on them in the middle of a winter wonderland.
Taylor (Lori’s sister) and I became fast friends a couple years ago now, so it was a genuine honor to have her gift a session to her sister for Christmas. Side note, if you’re ever looking for gift ideas, let me help you out. Everyone wants a photo session! Now, I have the privilege of having photos of both these cuties in my blog! If you want to take a peek at Taylor’s home session, starring her adorable kitties, you can see that here.
Star of the show
Sometimes you bring along your pet, and they are camera shy or uncooperative. Not blue. He was here to party. This winter wonderland was his time to shine. And even though he was a little feisty at times, his personality won me over in a heartbeat. If you know me at all, you know I love my animals as my children, so when I meet couples that feel the same way, it’s an instant kinship. A bond. And it’s always a good time.
Making it your own
The snow was the perfect backdrop for this winter wonderland shoot. Lori and Nick are the adventure types, so it was no surprise when they brought along a snowmobile to perfectly accent their session. Little details like this are what make photos feel more like you.
I often get questions like, “What should I wear?” and “What should we bring?”. And while I’m always more than happy to give you some direction and suggestions, the answer can be summed up pretty simply. Wear whatever makes you feel best! Bring whatever helps you show off who you are! These two showed up with their pup and their fun loving spirits. And the memories we captured are ones they get to cherish for a lifetime. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Your dog can be a little rowdy, it might be a little cold, but when you show up authentically as yourself, that’s the good stuff.
