Why do a studio session?

Sometimes, you want photos just because! You want photos to capture you and your love right where you are. Right in this moment. That’s why Maddy and Steve decided on a studio session in my downtown space here in Spokane. They wanted their photos to feel like they were just snuggling at home. So we met up and captured these amazing moments. I love the setup in this space because it has all of the quintessential “home” spots, without actually having to clean and stage your own home! Since it still has that comfy feel, you can relax and really celebrate one another.

Be Yourself

These two were so much fun to work with! When they reached out to schedule this studio session, I knew we were about to have some fun. I’ll let you in on a little secret. The trick to getting really great photos that you’ll love and cherish for a lifetime…is to just be yourself! When you do sessions that are true to who you are as a couple, the images end up being the best they could possibly be. They’re intimate, and raw, and REAL! The reason people don’t like themselves in photos is because they don’t recognize themselves. So if you’re someone who generally doesn’t love seeing pictures of themselves, I want to challenge you. Let this be your permission to let go, and to be yourself. Don’t worry about the poses. Forget that I’m even taking pictures! And let yourself really shine through during your next photo shoot. You just might surprise yourself❤️

I intentionally left myself more room this year to do some more intimate shoots with my couples. It’s such a great chance to get to know you.
