Sometimes you have to just create for yourself, and during a pandemic, it was needed more than ever. I had the idea to do this wedding styled shoot and it couldn’t have turned out dreamier.
We had strict guidelines to follow and even amidst them, we were able to do this wedding styled shoot. Kelsey and Joseph got married young and didn’t really get to do the whole “formal portraits” thing. I met Kelsey a few years ago when they relocated up here – as she is a wicked talented photographer herself, Whispering Daisy Photography, and she assisted me on quite a few weddings. After learning they hadn’t had this special time, I really wanted to give it to them. It was the most picturesque day on the Columbia Gorge and it gave us that perfect golden light while they got to really embrace their love.
The vendors that helped make this dream come to life were angels and I couldn’t have asked for a better team. I’m so grateful that during the midst of a crazy pandemic, we were able to create something insanely beautiful. The wedding industry was crazy in 2020 but this really made up for all of those reschedules.
Doing a vow renewal, elopement, or anniversary in your wedding attire is so, so special. I seriously cannot recommend it enough. It’s a perfect way to celebrate you and your partner, while also creating new memories and pictures. You can make it a big event or just a small, intimate moment. There are no rules when it comes to renewals and elopements. Let’s throw the tradition to the wind and just celebrate love!
