Gina and Randy love the PNW. They are transplants who love the outdoors and hiking. It was a no brainer to meet them on their hiking trip at one of my favorite places for this moody PNW engagement session. We met near Lake Crescent and the Moments in time Trail and wandered through the lush fern forest laughing and planning their elopement in Tulum, MX this next winter!
Whenever I plan engagement sessions with my couples, I ask two things:
- What feels most like you as a couple? Exploring the city? A coffee date? A Hike?
- Is there a location that is special to you both? If the answer is no – or you have always dreamed about going somewhere, that is ok! That is what I need to know. It helps me plan the epic date day with the two of you.
For these two, they had a hiking trip planned in Olympic national park and wanted to celebrate their engagement in the forest pretending to be on the set of twilight. SAY NO MORE. The moody PNW delivered and this engagement session was such a dreamy day.
An engagement session that feels like *you*
This is so important. Choosing an activity or setting that feels natural to you will produce the most natural and candid moments. I understand the appeal of dressing up and doing something incredibly formal because that is what has been on trend, but dressing up and playing in the forest is just as cool.
Every single person I meet tells me that “they are so awkward and are sorry in advance” … my challenge to you is to go back and look through all of the engagement galleries and tell me which ones look awkward to you! I promise and confidently can say that I will not allow that, being yourselves – however that looks – is what makes the photos not awkward.
If this inspired you to go to Olympic National Park for your engagement session, shoot me an email! I will already be there a few times in 2024 and so there are no travel fees! I’d love to hang out with you and pretend to be a Cullen!
