An Oregon Coast Engagement session set in Cannon Beach that will make your dreams of the pacific come to life when planning your own. If you’re a bird, i’m a bird, right?
How to plan the perfect day on the Oregon Coast for your Engagement Session:
- Pick a photographer who is up for ANYTHING! When I mean anything, you want to find someone that will connect with you and feel like a friend, but also someone who if it pours rain and you still want to go…. will meet you there!
- ALSO be up for anything. Coastal weather is wild, but sometimes there are hundreds of people to work around, road closures, and just things out of your control. Being prepared to have fun regardless is the key to having an epic session on the coast.
- Prepare to be goofy. Being stagnant does not produce the cinematic fun photos you see all over Instagram. Being up for running around, dancing in the rain, and doing all of the things that feel awkward will result in the timeless movement imagery you are seeking.
This particular day on the Oregon Coast had King Tides. So we opted for a couple locations because the weather was a little wild with wind. These two didn’t care and just let their hair blow and the sand sandblast them. We had so much fun running around on the beach and in the forest.
Pro Tip: Always pick two locations for your engagement session, it adds so much to your gallery and memories!
Next we headed into the fern forest, and if you’ve ever been to the Oregon Coast, you know it’s also the most perfect addition to an engagement session. The greens are my absolute favorite and I just love the way it feels wandering through an Oregon rainforest. We hiked about 4 miles up to the cape and then back down to Highway 101. It was a real life fern gully.
