The dreamist sunrise engagement session in Leavenworth, WA.

Marlanna and Josh drove from Seattle to meet me at sunrise to take their engagement photos earlier this fall, and we were met with most BEAUTIFUL weather. Leavenworth is one of my absolute favorite places in the Pacific Northwest and I think these photos will give you an idea why.

People often ask me when is the “right” time to do your engagement photos and the simplest answer is at least 6 months prior to your wedding. It’s a great way to get to know each other prior to the wedding day, and it’s a good time to send out those save the dates! This Leavenworth engagement session was a perfect example of calming those nerves and seeing how easy hanging out with me can be!

Picking a photographer who makes you feel at ease and comfortable is the biggest advice I can give you. I think choosing someone who you not only connect with their art, but their personality is key. It allows you to let your hair down so to speak and really feel free and vulnerable. You want to look back on these images in 30 years and feel how it felt all over again.
