This surprise Seattle proposal is one for the books.

A few months ago I got probably my favorite email inquiry I’ve ever gotten. You see, my contact form asks for your full name & your partner’s name so I can immediately know who you both are. I think names are telling especially when paired together.

It read: Boone (me) & Alex (the love of my life) … obviously I had to reply instantly. They were going to embark on a west coast road trip to see family. They are from Texas & drove 3 days to come to Washington. And that’s where I come in to plan this surprise Seattle proposal.

Boone gave me pretty much free reign on planning this epic afternoon for the two of them and was stoked on my vision. I enlisted the help of my sweet friend Meg Grow to help me set up. You guys, she drove from central Oregon to do this for me. I then found the genius herself Zorys Flowers who put together multiple floral arrangements to decorate with that the couple got to take home.

I also included some Seattle staples like Zeeks Pizza & Cupcake Royale because they’re the best and these Texans deserved to celebrate such a milestone in their lives overlooking the sound and indulge. I also don’t know how we got so lucky with Mt. Rainier out in all of her glory during their proposal.

All of these words to conclude with — I’m fucking humbled and honored that I get to be an adventure photographer. I get to take day trips across the state to celebrate love. You guys help me THRIVE. This is my element, my calling. My job is so damn cool.
